P2PGA is seeking to hire 2 part-time Parent Partners: one in the Valdosta/Lowndes County area and one in the Savannah/Chatham County area!

Are you a parent or family member of a child with a disability or a professional interested in working with families? Are you looking for part-time work, a casual working environment, where you can help families access support and resources while expanding your own knowledge? If so, Parent to Parent needs you as a Parent Partner.

The primary responsibilities of the Parent Partner include providing one-on-one assistance and guidance on educational and health-related issues to families of children with disabilities and/or special healthcare needs. These Parent Partners will work closely with the staff at the County Boards of Health and Children with Special Healthcare Needs programs in Valdosta, GA and Savannah, GA.

Requirements:

• Experience supporting families of children with special healthcare needs
• Parent or family member of an individual with a disability and/or one year experience in the disability field.
• Good written and strong oral communication skills (preference given to candidates fluent in Spanish).
• Basic computer skills
• 2-4 year degree preferred
• Parent whose child has received services from Babies Can’t Wait (BCW) or Children’s Medical Services (CMS) preferred

Part-time position, 20 hours a week, 12 months a year. Pay is $17.00 per hour.
