Support Groups

 

In addition to our local Navigator Teams, Parent to Parent of Georgia currently offers these free support groups:


star4bullet Clayton County Hispanic Support Group, facilitated by Wanda Hernandez, private service coordiator for  Clayton County's Babies Can't Wait).  Meetings are typically held on the third Wednesday of each month, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Meetings are held at the Moose Lodge (1595 Battle Creek Road, Jonesboro).

star4bullet Gwinnett County Hispanic Support Group, facilitated by Beatriz Maliszewski (Parent Partner with P2P).  Meetings held monthly from August through May.  Meetings are held on the third Friday of each month, from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, excluding June and July.  Meetings are held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (2140 Beaver Ruin Road, Norcross).

 

star4bullet Fayette Sibling Support Group, facilitated by Fayette County Navigator Team.  The Sibling Support Group is for brothers and sisters of children with specail needs. Being the brother or sister of a child with special needs is, for some a good thing, for others a not-so-good thing, and for many somewhere in between.  The group focuses on recreational activities designed to promote friendship, learning and acceptance.  Meetings are typically held on the third Thursday of each month, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, excluding July and August. Meeting location may vary.

 

star3bullet Mostly Military Book Club, facilitated by Muscogee County Navigator Team.  This group is for parents in the military and military spouses who have children with special needs.  Others are also welcome.  Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month, from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm, at Starbucks in Barnes and Noble (Columbus Park North, 5555 Whittlesey Blvd., Suite 1800, Columbus).
